I’m Andrew.
An IT Guy is me: one person in Longmont who will show up, fix what I can, and explain it in everyday language.
I live in Longmont, and I started An IT Guy to help neighbors and local businesses with the computer problems that eat up an afternoon: a laptop that suddenly crawls, Wi-Fi that dies when you need it, a new machine that still has last year’s files stuck on the old one.
I’ve spent nearly 11 years doing hands-on technical work — supporting business applications and data systems, helping internal users through help-desk tickets, troubleshooting problems, and keeping daily systems running. Before that I spent about 10 years in customer service and leadership, so I care as much about how the conversation feels as I do about getting the machine working again.
I’ve loved computers since my first 486 IBM running Windows 3.11. I still like figuring out why something broke, and I still like walking someone through the answer so it isn’t a mystery.
If I can’t help, I’ll say so. If a repair doesn’t make sense next to the cost of replacement, I’ll say that too.
